Fresh Inc puts new music in Chicago, on the radio, and beyond!!

Equal parts new music and new ideas
June 4-17, 2012
Carthage College, Kenosha, WI

It's simple; the fresh inc festival provides young composers with the best opportunities to have their music heard by large established audiences, including a live radio broadcast. By participating in fresh inc, composition students will:
receive expert individual instruction from Composers-in-Residence Stacy Garrop (Roosevelt University) and David Rakowski (Brandeis University)
have their pieces workshopped by Chicago's very own Fifth House Ensemble, and
be automatically entered for a chance to have their work performed LIVE by 5HE as part of Chicago's prestigious Rush Hour Concerts at St. James;
Oh, one more thing: this prize-winning performance will also be broadcast LIVE on 98.7 WFMT
In addition to this landmark composition contest, fresh inc participants will also have their music performed all over the Midwest, including:

During a gala at the Kenosha Civil War Museum
underneath the stunning Calatrava entryway of the Milwaukee Art Museum
in Chicago's beautiful and sonorous St. James Cathedral, and
at Ravinia's Bennett Gordon Hall (yes....that Ravinia)
